Land Rover Owner International

I am keen to try and track down the whereabouts of my blue, original 1 ton Series 2 Landy and brand new galvanised Marsh chassis-one of the last (possibly THE last 6 cylinder series 2 chassis made by Marsh).

I am currently serving in the British Army and am away a lot. The 1 ton was entrusted to Mark Holdsworth of Holdsworth 4x4 in Anglesey for restoration in 'due course' and Mark bought a new chassis which I paid for, but never saw.

On one of my trips back to UK I phoned the Holdsworth 4x4 number to discover that the business had gone bust and that all vehicles had 'disappeared'. Can anyone help?

I would add that I never had anything but polite and helpful service from Mark, but he seems to have disappeared too! Appreciate, registration and vin numbers would help, but I haven't got access to them as I'm away...! Also, Mark had original paperwork and registration document. Landy was blue with a white roof, orange flashing light, side windows in the hard top, 2 door. Super good 6 cylinder engine and gear box, but ropey chassis and bulkhead.

Mark Holdsworth is a decent guy who was up against it a bit. Ex Royal Navy and not in the best of health due to an injury he received whilst serving.
He ran Holdsworth 4x4 at Unit 10 Pentraeth Industrial Estate, Pentraeth LL75 8LJ. The business phone number was 01248 450002.
He was going to restore the 1 ton and bought the chassis for me. I also, slightly against my better judgement, allowed him to talk me into buying a Stage 1 V8 which I still have and have paid an absolute fortune on! Finally, he had a bright yellow series 1 of mine which was in his compound. It was an off roader which Mark told me was basically useless and I think he might have scrapped it. 1 ton is a series 3, not 2 as I originally stated



Again, nothing against Mark, but would love to know where everything is!

I know it's of no conselation to you but i am surprised to hear Mark Holdsworth had gone under, when I lived in that part of the world he used to do some work on my old Range Rover, and as you say he was a thoroughly decent guy and had a succesful buisness. Shame the little guys are going to the wall in this ecenomic climate.

Just a thought it might be worth a few long distance phone calls around the local garages to see if any of his old employees have got job's with them, they might be able to direct you to him or where all the cars from his yard went.
