 275/70/16 on Disco 1
Hi guys,
Just won a set of 275/70/16 BFG ATs on ebay and trying to foresee what issues I'm going to have fitting them. I've done a search but couldn't find anything too concrete, so apologies if this has been asked before!
To start with, the disco has a 2" lift but I'm not expecting that to cover it. I'm definitely expecting at least a camel cut on the rear to cover the increase in diameter, but it's the width that has got me.
Will I need extended arches? I'd imagine so, there's 255s on there at the moment and they're pretty flush with the bodywork. I guess if 275s do fit for some strange reason I'd lose so much steering lock I'd need spacers, and thus, arches!
Of course, it's a 5 door, so that should complicate matters a touch.
Basically, any gotchas I'll need to look out for, and any products to recommend?
Cheers,
Dom

thanks guys... is that ^^^ the same size? if so, I might get away without arches, which would be a bonus!
I was originally looking a 235/85 so am prepared for a spot of bodywork, it's just the width has thrown me!
Guess the suck it and see approach will be apt here...

They are 7.50-16 G90's i think you will find.
They will go on 7,8,or 9 inch rims 8 inch being the optimum fitment. That will give you some idea how wide they are.You will probably find they come out nearer 280-283 mm in real terms.
I will have look when i get home and confirm that for you.

BFG's tech stuff lists them as having a maximum sectional width of 290mm (11.41 inches).

These are already on black modulars, so I'm hoping that headache is solved for me.

Max rim for 750-16 is 6.5 inch (Wolf rims 6.5 inch).
The other figures i quoted are for the 275/70R16 the guy wants to fit.
Didn't make myself clear sorry.
I've tried BFG's list before now and can't even get it to come up with anything 7.50-16.
