The original and best Land Rover show returns for 2008. A week earlier than billed. Now scheduled for 13th-14th September. Stop Press . . . The date of the LRO show has been moved a week earlier to 13th and 14th September 2008 due to a clash with another event. So you have one week less to wait for the biggest and best Land Rover Show of the year! The original announcement . . . After a break of a year, the LRO Show is back as the unmissable event for all Land Rover enthusiasts. Land Rover Owner International magazine is once again teaming up with Live Promotions to run the LRO Show at the East of England Showground in Peterborough – the date for your diaries is the weekend of September 13th and 14th 2008. Says LRO’s Editor-in-Chief John Pearson: ‘We’re delighted to be back with our own show again – and at one of the country’s best venues. The East of England Showground is the perfect venue. It’s accessible from most parts of the country, it has a superb structure of tarmac roads, and is well drained – so no worries, even if it were to rain. ‘We had three great years with Live Promotions at the Showground from 2002-2004, and know that their event specialists will work with us to provide a superb event in Land Rover’s 60th anniversary year.’ Jason Lunn, Events Director for Live, says: ‘Next year is an important year for Land Rover, and we are sure that with Live and LRO working together we can once again create the leading Land Rover show. Our last event at Peterborough in 2004 attracted more than 30,000 visitors, and the news is already being warmly received by the industry and public. Many traders have already reserved space for 2008, with the promise of bigger stands, and more vehicles and accessories at the show. ‘It will be the event of 2008. ‘We look forward to a long and successful partnership with Land Rover Owner International magazine and to running the LRO Show with it.’ Leading accessory supplier, Colin Aldred of Scorpion Racing, is one of the prominent industry figures to welcome the announcement. ‘It’s excellent news. It’s a great showground with an excellent arena and good facilities, and you generally get good weather at that time of year.’ Andrew Harrison-Smith, boss of independent Land Rover specialist, Nene Overland, is also upbeat. ‘I’m delighted that LRO is returning to the show scene, and I’m really pleased that it’s at the East of England showground, too.’ Andrew McRobb, who runs the massively popular Land Rover Gear stands, says: ‘It’s fantastic news that one of the strongest magazines is supporting this great show.’ Apart from providing a wide variety of exhibitors, the show will feature a superb off-road course, designed by LRO’s off-road supreme, Vince Cobley, to cater for all abilities. And, keeping it in the family, Ed Cobley’s spectacular arena stunt driving will be as unmissable as ever. ‘I’m already working on something special,’ says Ed.
