Theo Ford-Sagers

Theo’s first car was a rusty Series III, and these days he’s usually found tinkering with the 1968 Series IIA that he’s owned for over a decade. He joined LRO as our staff writer back in 2013, and we despatched him all round the country to write about pretty much everything.
He went freelance a few years later, and more recently he's been our news and production editor. His multi-purpose Land Rover is now a 2007 Range Rover L322 TDV8 that he loves and fears in equal measure.
Based in Scotland, daily life includes trailer towing and dog ferrying, often on rough tracks – chores which are shared by a Td5 Discovery 2 and 4.6 Range Rover P38. Living close to the sea means his summer evenings are often spent with an oily paintbrush, rustproofing Land Rovers the old way.
Theo has come to know his Series IIA inside out, and drove it to the Alps a few years ago. Converting it into an overlander while retaining its 1960s drivetrain has been a long-term dream, but good sense keeps getting the better of him.
If money were no object he’d have a manual Range Rover Classic in Trocadero Red with flannel interior. And probably live in it.
