Ask LRO: ACE Calamities are no pipe dream on Discovery 2 Td5

by Calum Brown |

Q.

I am at a point of despair with my Discovery Td5 and am really hoping you can help me with an issue that no local mechanic seems to want to help me with. The problem I have is replacing the Active Cornering Enhancement (ACE) pipes, which have been disconnected. I need to know, for the new pipes, which pipe enters where into the ACE box mounted on the chassis leg. I would be seriously grateful for some expert advice!

There are two pipes that fi t the rear of the valve block, and four at the front. The rear pipes feed the rear. When refitting, it is very important that you use new collets and check the actual valve block itself is working properly.

Have a look at the diagram on the left, which illustrates the ACE pipe system that is used on the Discovery 2 chassis. The pipe numbered 18 fits into the valve block bottom rear. The pipe numbered 17 fits into the valve block top rear. The pipe numbered 15 fits into the valve block second from top front, and the pipe numbered 16 fits into the valve block top front. The pipe numbered 13 fits into the valve block second from bottom front, and the pipe numbered 14 fits into the valve block bottom front.
