Looking for something to do in your Land Rover? Well, who isn't – it's not like we've been able to do much in the past year. But as the country slowly opens up, we're adding more and more events to our comprehensive Land Rover events listing.
From trials to shows, autojumbles to greenlaning, there's a huge scope of events to take part in with your Land Rover – and the great thing is that much of the time you can take part in a standard vehicle – you don't need a modified 4x4!
If you've a competitive side, trials are a great starting point – you'll be pitching your, and your Land Rover's, abilities against sections laid out by the Clerk of the Course. The gentlest ones are called Tyro Trials and children over 13 years old can drive in those too. From there you can progress into RTV (road taxed vehicle) trials. As the name suggests, the vehicles are road-legal and you can drive to and from the event. Further on, you can go into the fully roll-caged CCV (cross country vehicle) trials.
If you've a shiny vehicle, like a Range Rover, Velar, Evoque, Sport or newer Land Rover – Discovery 4 or 5, Discovery Sport or Freelander 2 – Tyros are the place to start, though there is no reason you can't compete in RTV trials.
If you're not competitive, there are plenty of Land Rover shows and off-road shows you can attend – not least our own LRO Show, which is a proper feast of Land Rovers. Other, smaller shows are held around the country throughout the year and, of course, plenty of classic car shows welcome older models, like Series Land Rovers and Range Rover Classics.
Autojumbles are a great place to find elusive parts for your Land Rover – or to sell some of your unwanted parts. One thing Land Rovers are good at is hoarding spares!
Or you may just want to play off-road in your Land Rover – head to a Pay & Play or Driving Day. With these you can just rock up on the day and drive around to your heart's content – and if you've been modifying your Land Rover, you can see how well you've done, and whether you need to do more.
Alternatively, you might just want to go for a gentle drive in the country – and you can enjoy a spot of greenlaning in your Land Rover. Our Essential guide to Greenlaning will give you advice on getting started, but you may want to join an organised tour first. They'll help show you the ropes, as well as doing all of the route-planning and making sure you stay legal.
