Q.
There’s a leak between the transfer and main gasket gearbox on my 200Tdi 90. Is it the gasket between the boxes at fault - and is it a big job to change it?

The leak could be from either the gearbox or transfer box, or even both. If you’re going to the trouble of doing this job I would suggest changing the seals in both the gearbox and transfer box at the same time. You’ll need to remove the transfer box, which is a job only a competent DIY mechanic should take on.
If you have access to a ramp and a decent toolkit, the job will take about four hours, if you’re doing it for the first time and on the floor, I would allow a full day. Once the transfer box is removed both seals are easily changed.
