This LRO reader emailed LRO.firstname.lastname@example.org to ask for advice about installing a new rear wiper in a 2011 Defender 110.
We have a 2011 Defender 110 (basic). We would like to fit a complete wash/wiper system to the rear windscreen (none at present). Is this advisable? Should we buy a complete new door with everything fitted?

I would get a secondhand wiper assembly from a 110. If you go for a non-standard part be careful to check the wiping arc matches that of the genuine item.
Your major task is to find out what wiring is in place. You may find wiring is in place., if not in the door, then at the end of the harness near the lights. You'll need the proper column switch, which isn't a simple ON/OFF if you want it to park. The motor will run but not park with an ON/OFF switch, though if the wiring isn't in place this may be the only option. You'll also need a second washer bottle and pump.
