This LRO reader emailed LRO.firstname.lastname@example.org looking for advice on how to go about diagnosing dual warnings from the dashboard of his wife's Freelander 1.
The Hill Descent Control (HDC) and Traction Control (TC) warning lights on my wife’s Freelander 1 Td4 come on after driving for a few minutes. Does it need a diagnostic check or are there any common fault solutions I can try first?
Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire
Start with re-seating the wheel sensors. Remove, clean and tap back in, as well as checking the continuity of the connecting wires.
Other faults come from the handbrake and foot brake switches, as well as the accelerometer below the centre console.
As you have fault lights coming on you could get them read at a dealer or specialist and work from there.
