This LRO reader emailed LRO.email@example.com to ask Julian Gilling about how to change the LCD backlight bulb on his 2001 Range Rover P38.
The LCD display on the climate control in my 2001 P38 Range Rover has recently become dark and unreadable. If I look really closely, I can see the temperature figures are displayed, but can’t read it clearly.

The LCD screen is backlit by a small bulb in the rear of the HEVAC (heating, ventilation and aircon) unit. Pop the side trims off the centre console to reveal the four screws that hold the unit in place. Remove the screws and then the unit. Looking at the back, you’ll see a small light-grey coloured bulb holder (see photo above). Half a turn anti-clockwise will release the holder so that you can change the capless bulb.
