This LRO reader emailed LRO.email@example.com to ask Andrew Varrall about getting a dehumidifier for his Land Rover Defender 90.
What dehumidifiers are suitable for leaving in my Defender 90 300Tdi and what is the difference in performance between them? Also, is there anything I can do to treat the problem at source?
Geffrey Wyartt, Newent, Gloucestershire
I have had limited success with in-car dehumidifiers, and have tried many different types because I have a dog that loves swimming and do a lot of short journeys – so the
Land Rover doesn’t get the chance to dry out. The only ones that work really well are mains powered. I’ve found that the condensation problem in my vehicle has improved enormously since I covered the part of the roof that had no headlining with stick-on sound-deadening foam to act as insulation. It also made things quieter!
