I’ve received some excellent feedback from the Midland Rover Owners club’s Major’s Memorial two day CCV trial, run annually at Eastnor Castle, in honour of the late Major Ben Hervey-Bathurst since he passed away in 1997. In particular there seems to be an encouraging upsurge of interest from the ladies.
Rachel Fasham says – ‘What a fab weekend – my first Major’s, and I think it’s safe to say I’ll be back next year… lovely to meet so many new people. Likewise Lisa Silvers stated – ‘First time at The Major’s and had a brill time.’ For seasoned participant Guy Cashmore it was – ‘The best Memorial Trial in years for me, great sections, great weather, old friends, lovely competitors and fellow marshals.’
To participate in the event you need to have a team of three ALRC spec CCV trialers and be members of one of the association’s clubs. This year the silverware was taken home by the Peak and Dukeries LRC team one; Neil Melish, Dave Naylor and Keith Lynham. MROC’s web site can be found at www.mroc.co.uk.
