With the ALRC National Rally fast approaching, and Easter being one of the last opportunities for a number of affiliated drivers to get in some practice at an interclub level prior to the event, Essex Land Rover Club are hosting their 14th annual Easter Interclub at Thurrock.
The event is open to both ALRC and non-ALRC 4x4 clubs from the East of England at a popular venue uniquely placed within walking distance of a massive shopping centre, to keep the family occupied and wallets empty.
The interclub offers a long weekend of enjoyable off-road motorsport with a variety of events suitable for novices, hardened trialers and Comp Safari drivers alike.
This year the trials events have been set out by Essex LRC while the Southern Counties Off-Road Club have picked up the baton of running the Comp Safari.
With camping available the club hopes that the social activities will provide as much entertainment as the motorsport. The plan is to have barbeques and food available in the camping area, and a marquee will be erected as a social centre and meeting place.
For the children, there will be a Bike Trial on Saturday afternoon and an Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday morning.
This is a rural site so there will be limited toilets available, so the more self-sufficient you are the better. Details of local amenities will be provided in the welcome pack on site.
Marshals are always needed so please make yourself known if you would like to get involved. Enthusiasm is more important than experience! Contact the event organisers to volunteer.

There will be a full report on the event in the June issue of LRO that comes out in May.
