Around 200 people were ferried around the arena by the club’s skilled drivers, navigating a course of challenging steel ramps, the centre piece of which was a steep climb and descent from a raised platform. Add to this a twist off ramp to show the public how far a Land Rover can go and they had some pretty amazed and slightly scared passengers.
If you’ve seen the Lowrangers films on YouTube you’ll know their distinguishing feature is a special brand of humour. Including administrator, Jo Barnes, asking the next customers to wait while they wash the blood from the floors, along with safety marshals randomly stopping vehicles to casually hand Landy parts to passengers they thought ‘might have fallen off’.
The £351 raised this year will be divided between the CF Foundation and Combat Stress charities, bringing their running total to £1,386. The guys tell me that next year they plan to invite other clubs and Land Rovers to the event and turn it into a mini Land Rover focussed day. To get involved you can contact them at lowrangers.org.
