Now celebrating its 10th anniversary, the club is still going strong. Last month they combined their own celebration with the convenient anniversaries of 45 years of the Classic, 21 years of P38A, and 10 years of the Range Rover Sport.
A fantastic sunny day gave the perfect backdrop for the celebration. Starting off from the Schiatti Class JLR dealer, the principal sponsor of the club since it was founded, 47 Range Rovers took to the countryside roads heading towards Modena. Vehicles ranged from a 1973 Bahama Gold classic to a 2015 Evoque Sd4.
As well as the many fascinating vehicles, the event was also attended by former Paris-Dakar driver Vittorio Mariano who first participated in 1982 in his red two-door Range Rover and went on to compete in 11 other P-Ds.
As you come to expect at any Italian Land Rover event a full traditional lunch was waiting at Modena (Italian Land Rover clubs don’t do burger vans). After the lunch and awards for the best restored or conserved Classic, it was time to go down to the car park and admire each other's vehicle, after which a couple of laps around the Modena Autodromo circuit had been arranged behind a safety car.
One thing you can always be assured of, the Italians celebrate in style.
