The event was run as an interclub with fellow ALRC affiliate Cheltenham and Cotswold Rover Owners Club (ccroc.co.uk); at Newman’s Quarry near Chipping Norton. Set out against the beautiful backdrop of the rolling Cotswold Hills on the Warwickshire/Oxfordshire border. A great site reputed to be good in all weathers.
Being the last event of MROC’s season it would also be the climax of their annual RTV driver championship. However, despite championship positions still being up for grabs it in no way distracted from the fun and frolics of the day. Could you imagine Lewis Hamilton turning up at Abu Dhabi still needing F1 championship points, dressed as an Elf?
