The Quarry was used solely by club members on the Saturday, where 16 vehicles enjoyed the muddy experience with quite a few female drivers getting behind the wheel, some for the first time.
The day was rounded off with bbq food, drinks and a get-together around the fire pit, watching the Police Helicopter taking off and landing across the field from our site.
Following a leisurely breakfast on Sunday, green lane routes had been planned for two groups of five vehicles which set off in opposite directions for a day around Northamptonshire. The land owner granted permission for tents and caravans to be left on site during the laning so this became their start and finish point.
Many gates were opened and closed en-route, the weather, scenery and wildlife we encountered were great. One lane was quite a challenge negotiating the tight bends but everyone made it in one piece!
Member Ruth Youart would like to let you know that ‘we're hoping to repeat this event later in the year as members enjoyed it so much. So if you’d like to join us information can be found at www.fenlanders4x4.co.uk or on the ‘Fenlanders 4x4’ Facebook page’.
