Over the first weekend in August, while many of you were watching the delights of Beach Volleyball on the telly, Beds Herts and Cambs Land Rover Club (BHCLRC.co.uk) were having their own equally photogenic competitive event in the sands of Yarwell Quarry, to celebrate the club’s 15th birthday. The site is well-known to LRO show-goers as the location of the off-road course, north of Peterborough.
BHCLRC have always tried to come up with diverse activities to keep their membership entertained, their big birthday bash was no exception. As well as the standard green lane runs and trials, there was a gymkhana challenge, sandcastle competition, punch hunt and scatter for members of all ages to enjoy, as well as a winch cable zip wire and bouncy castle to help the younger ones recycle their lunch.
A fun weekend with a great club, I look forward to their next big anniversary, but you can read the full story of this one in the October issue of LRO, in the shops September 7th.
