This year the Buxton and District LRC Clubman winch challenge series has the support of Winchman, the Come Up winch suppliers. Round One of the Clubman Challenge kicked the series off at Holymoorside in Derbyshire. It attracted more new faces keen to test their vehicles to some entertaining and technical punches amid the site’s deep water filled troughs and treacherous mud.
It’s a small but dedicated organising team that put the Clubman Challenge together and it has adopted some changes to smooth out proceedings with the introduction of the MSA licences. The teams receive packs containing door stickers, wrist bands and punch cards and scrutineering has been made more efficient with a two lane system being employed to speed things up, making for an earlier start for the competition.
Round Two of the series is scheduled to take place at Nant-y-Ffrith on May 16. Details of future events can be found at www.clubmanchallenge.co.uk
There's a two-day challenge event at Wern Ddu near Corwen, North Wales. over the weekend of 26/27 June for single vehicles at a cost of £80. Entry forms and further details can be found at www.northernchallenge.co.uk
