It was said by many at the end of this year’s ’Mac’ that it was 'the best yet' and the teams' efforts behind the event prove that. The ‘score’ to date has just – thanks to the contribution from Russ Brown for his article in LRO's May 2010 issue, reached a staggering £120,000! That really is a tremendous outcome which makes a major donation from all the participants to help Macmillan to help others.
The total was helped by 21 teams that, for one reason and another couldn’t start but, donated their entry fee and in a major way by the 20 teams who have managed to raise over £2,000 –well over in some cases. That, however, hopefully still isn’t the final figure; 10 teams are still below the basic pledge of £600 – if they all get to the finish line that represents another £1,700 and then there is that unknown world of ‘raised offline’ which appears on the Justgiving pages – if all those statements (dreams) were fulfilled that could represent somewhere in the region of another £4 to £5k. So are you going to lift the total up to £125,000? Check those pockets and pledges. Well done MAC 4x4 Year 2010.
