Sergey Trofimenko and Maxim Vostrikov, partners of the Drive Training Centre Land Rover Experience, recently took part in the Golden Ring Rally for classic cars. The rally started on 10th July on Vasilievsky Spusk of Red Square. Fifty cars from Russia, Italy, Switzerland, Netherlands and other European countries took part in the rally in this year. The cars ranged from 30 to 71 years old and the 1949 Land Rover performed in a 'dignified way'.
The Golden Ring Rally is a beautiful and exciting adventure for original classic cars. This event is styled on the legendary Italian rally Mille Miglia (1000 Miles). The total route is more than 1500km, a distance covered in four days, and all the stages of the competition were organized in line with FIVA international standards. The route led across the Gold Ring and finished in Moscow in front of the main entrance of the All-Russian exhibition centre.
'We took part in only one day of the competition as well as in last year', said Sergey Trofimenko. 'We love our Land Rover, but it is really difficult to it to compete with sports cars. If the rally were off-road it would be a different story!' ? ?Drive Training Centre Land Rover Experience has been working in Moscow since 2005. The branch of this centre was opened in Gatchina, near St. Petersburg, last year. 'The centre supports the duo's collection of Land Rover old cars and I hope that we will take part in all four days of this rally next year,' said Maxim Vostrikov. 'I'm sure that it is one more opportunity to present the capabilities of the legendary Land Rover.' ?
