Held over the weekend of September 11-12 the Land Rover extravaganza known as the LRO Show was a rip-roaring success. The LRO Show was a haven for Land Rover clubs from the UK and abroad and more than 70 clubs attended, many taking advantage of the superb camping and caravanning facilities at the East of England Showground. There was something for every Land Rover enthusiast, from a giant trade area to an Old Sodbury Sort-out.
The main arena was the centre of non-stop action, including cavalcades of modified and restored Land Rovers plus plenty of fun for the family. Another spectacle was the team that were continuing the rebuild of a 300Tdi Defender to 2010 spec!
Vince Cobley and his team set up an off-road course a short distance from the showground at nearby Yarwell, where many visitors took advantage of a chance fr a great off-road drive. On Sunday evening as traders and visitors started to head for home, tired and happy, LRO Editor in Chief John Pearson pronounced himself satisfied with the way the show had gone saying, 'It's been a great weekend with lots to do and the many smiling faces are evidence of that. I'll see everyone next year.'
