The Official Scottish Motorshow - The interactive family event will take place over the weendend of the 21st and 22nd May. The organisers look forward to welcoming you to Scotland's motor industry showcase which is endorsed by the SMTA (Scottish Motor Trade Association). The line up of new cars being seen in Scotland and the UK for the first time is rising as more manufacturers confirm their display vehicles on their stands at the 2011 Official Scottish Motor Show at Knockhill next weekend. The latest to confirm their UK launches are the German giant Mercedes and the diminutive British marques of Morgan and Ginetta. Event Director Stuart Gray said, 'This is fantastic news and a further endorsement about the importance that manufacturers place on the Scottish Motor Show.'
In addition, Land Rover is pre-launch previewing the Evoque, due for launch in September as well as bringing the Land Rover Experience for visitors to have a run in their fleet on the challenging Knockhill 4x4 off-road course. Stuart Gray aid, 'To have one of the most important Land Rovers in decades being pre-launched with us is amazing. Visitors will see and experience the best of British off-road technology and design with the show Evoque and go off-road in Range Rovers. It makes our show truly interactive'
The 2011 Official Motor Show will also feature four of the best stunt performers in the world. On four wheels, and sometimes two, Terry Grant and Paul Swift with both perform stunts in cars that will entertain and woo the crowd. On two wheels, and sometimes one, ex-world bike stunt champion. Kevin Carmichael will add to the drama and excitement with two shows each day. Finally the stunt aeroplanes - a biplane on Saturday and the Abarth plane on Sunday - will ensure there is action in the skies too.
New for 2011 are the Student Saturday and Ladies' Day Sunday themes. Over 50 colleges and universities in Scotland are promoting the show with 15 in attendance to create a direct link between the academic world in Scotland and the Motor Industry. This is being co ordinated by the motor industry bodies of the IMI and SMTA in Scotland, giving students the chance to find out more about the career opportunities within one of the biggest and most important job sectors in Scotland.
