Dubbed the ‘Museum Collections Centre’, the new building will house around 200 classic vehicles from the reserve collections of the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust and the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust, both of which are helping fund the museum. Jaguar Land Rover is also contributing, and the Heritage Lottery Fund is providing a £1.45 million grant.
Reyahn King, Head of the Heritage Lottery Fund for the West Midlands said: ‘We are delighted to support this project that not only provides a new and improved display and storage venue for these historic cars, but also creates opportunities for more people to learn about their conservation.’
Construction work begins this Spring. Click here for more information about the Heritage Motor Centre.
