As has become their bi-annual routine they are returning to Moab, Utah, a well-known venue regarded by many as offering some of the best off-roading this side of the moon. Trails suitable for every level of vehicle and driver experience, from novice to advanced, will be lead through the canyons and upon the cliffs nestled between the red rocks of Canyonlands National Park and the LaSalle Mountains.
This is an outdoor wonderland for four-wheeling, camping, hiking, horse riding and mountain biking. It is interconnected by networks of old uranium and copper mining roads that will be familiar to many due to its popularity as a movie location, which has been visited by everyone from John Wayne to Johnny Depp.
As well as the normal driven routes there will be the opportunity to join in with a number of activity trails (i.e. photography, Native American petroglyphs, mining ruins and desert botany). Similar to last year, a service project will be arranged in the Moab region and sponsored by the Solihull Society.
The trails are currently being planned and are subject to final permits. Please view the Land Rover National Rally 2014 site at www.landrovernationalrally.org for more details and registration forms.
