Female celebrities love their Range Rovers but it's not always plain sailing. Those recently having ups and downs include Coleen Rooney, Christina Aguilera, Katy Perry, Jessica Simpson, Rachel Uchitel and Lara Bingles.
Liverpool: Coleen Rooney reportedly loves her new custom Range Rover; she’s signed her name on the inside door panels. The wife of footballer Wayne Rooney wrote her trademark 'Coleen X' in her new, £95,000 Overfinch Range Rover. Someone close to Coleen, said: “She absolutely loves the Range Rover. She’s even signed it twice with a kiss, just like the signature on her perfume and it’s in gold." Hmm, nice.
It's said that 'it certainly leaves husband Wayne in no doubt that the Range Rover is hers!' Coleen bought the black 2010, TDV8 model, just before giving birth to baby Kai, in November and added her own touch after Wayne, had a set of aftermarket 22in alloy wheels fitted.
Los Angeles 1: In the run up to Christmas celebrity news websites were full of the story that, while out Christmas shopping, Christina Aguilera was involved in a minor 'fender bender'. It was reported that Aguilera's assistant was driving the white Range Rover down Third Street in Beverly Hills and while making a right turn at about 15 mph hit a silver Range Rover that was making a left-hand turn. Police were not called to the scene. The singer's Range Rover was left with a minor dent on the front, passenger-side bumper and no injuries were reported. The two drivers exchanged information and Aguilera's bodyguard came to pick her up while her assistant stayed behind to wait for a tow truck. A mischievous poster on one celebrity website wrote after seeing pictures of Aguilera's slightly damaged white Range Rover, 'I am just appalled that she would drive a non-supercharged Range Rover without the luxury package.'
Los Angeles 2: Katy Perry gave boyfriend Russell Brand a Range Rover for Christmas, according to US gossip columnists. The singer spent around £62,000 for the top-of-the-range SUV after the pair purchased a new home in LA. “Now that I’ve got a house, you’re going to be spending a lot more time in LA,” she reportedly told Brand as she gave him the black Range Rover. The reported drawback is that Russell Brand doesn’t actually know how to drive so Perry also had to buy him driving lessons.
Los Angeles 3: Out for an evening pampering session, Jessica Simpson, was spotted paying a visit to the Ken Paves Salon in West Hollywood and, fresh after getting her hair done, the 'Dukes of Hazzard' star was escorted through a crowd of photographers by her stylist friend before she climbed into her Range Rover and drove away. Miss Simpson has picked up a new hobby, boxing which has set tongues wagging. Seemingly questioning her own decision to take part in the macho sport herself, the 29-year-old tweeted, 'Just got done boxing... second day in a row... Have I lost my marbles?'
Florida: On celebrity websites it was reported that neighbours spotted a Range Rover with New York plates, like that driven by Rachel Uchitel, outside Tiger Woods' Windermere, Florida, house. Uchitel was, of course, one of the first women named in the recent stories about golfer Tiger Woods that had nothing to do with golf.
Australia: Model Lara Bingles Aston Martin is said to have been stolen by a group of local youths, who wanted to take the car for a ride. Theories had emerged as to why the car was stolen and then just dumped, but now according to two sources on Campbell Parade in Melbourne, a group of local youths have been telling friends they took it for a joy ride after taking advantage of an opportunity to steal it. They've been reported as saying they saw Lara's Range Rover, the model's other vehicle, parked in the middle parking section of Campbell Parade and knew that she owned it so they broke in to see what they could find, then found the Aston Martin keys inside the glovebox and as they knew which building she lived in they went after the car. They're claiming they only drove it around for a few hours before dumping it in Maroubra but later went back and moved it to south Coogee, where it was found, the source added.
