After years of digging around old warehouses, endless contacts and false leads, Julian Gostling has managed to acquire more than 300 metres of Land Rover logo fabric in black with the famous green ovals. Julian estimates that this will be enough material to upholster more than 130 Defender 90s or 300 pairs of front seats or seventy 110 County Station Wagon Land Rovers. Then, it's gone!
Exmoor Trim will be offering a range of seats that are best suited to this material from modular seats to inward facing tip-up seats and DIY Trim Kits. According to Exmoor Trim, the prices are very good - more than the Techno Cloth seats but not as much as the XS leather seats. The seats will be made with black logo in the centre panels and raised vinyl sides on the face giving a two tone look, as with the XS trim.
Julian has told LRO that Exmoor Trim 'is happy to offer some bespoke seats to customers' and that he thinks 'that the XS Leather trim with the Land Rover logo in the centre will look superb'. Unfortunately the company will not be selling the material off the roll and will only selling it as seats.
The material was originally used in Discovery I interiors in a range of three colours black, grey and brown. Julian says that Exmoor Trim will also be releasing a new trim kit product for the Disco I which will include some limited edition Black logo covers so watch this space for the release in the coming months.
