Australia; Bones found at the bottom of a cliff at the Pinnacle on the Border Ranges hold the key to unravelling a murder conspiracy surrounding the death of Gold Coast drug dealer Saaid Zaiter.It is believed his body was thrown over the edge of a cliff sometime after he was last seen alive leaving his Surfers Paradise home and before the silver Land Rover Discovery Zaiter used was later found burnt out at Barkers Vale. Five people accused of being involved with the murder were before the court.
Canada; Andrew Wilson, a 39-year-old Toronto man has been charged with fraud for allegedly securing bank loans under false names and renting out homes with forged credentials. Police say the man was arrested and charged with 14 offences related to fraudulent activity. The suspect is also accused of impersonating others to secure new credit cards and loans. Police say the suspect used false income statements, drivers' licenses and identity cards to advance his scheme. Detectives seized a 2006 Range Rover during their investigation.
Dubai; A murder suspect wanted by authorities in India bribed a police officer in Dubai with a luxury car in return for details of the investigation, a court heard today. The man who faces extradition to India in relation to the murder, gave the officer, who was working with Interpol, a Range Rover. One is charged with bribing a public official and the other is charged with accepting a bribe.??Ireland; A company managing director with financial difficulties hired three Polish nationals to burgle his home and burn out his €57,000 Range Rover with a view to making a major insurance claim. Tony McCarthy, of Glashaboy, Co Cork, was sentenced to four years imprisonment suspended for making a false report of a crime to gardai. One of the officers investigating the complaint became suspicious about the fact that the Range Rover was burnt out in Whitechurch, Co Cork, within a matter of minutes of when the ‘burglary’ had occurred. The investigation then concentrated on the man who had made the complaint.
Nigeria; The occupant, from the Kalabari area, of a Range Rover was unaware of what was about to happen as another vehicle followed closely. In it were assassins, their guns barked a couple of times and the occupant of the Range Rover did not see what hit him. He was dead before onlookers could do anything as his assailants vanished into thin air. Eyewitnesses frightened by the return of weapons could not say who hit the man or what car they came in as there are reports that guns may have gradually began making their way into Rivers State, even as Rivers people settle down to enjoy the amnesty reached between militants and the Federal authorities.
USA; A man in Nova Scotia contacted the Lee County Sheriff's Office in Florida because two men were burgling his home. The victim had a surveillance system in his home and was able to email photos of the suspects to police. A deputy arrived on the scene and saw a gold Range Rover pulling away from the house with its headlights off, reports said. The deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and was able to apprehend the burglars.
