The Peak District National Park Authority has announced the start of work to repair the drainage and surface problems on the Derbyshire section of the non-classified highway Long Causeway. Work started on January 31 and will last for about six weeks.
Although the route will not be formally closed whilst work is taking place, all users should be aware that large machinery will be carrying out works on or adjacent to the route. Where possible users should avoid using the track during the work as there will be considerable disturbance to the surface during construction and repair, and heavy use at this time will hinder progress and potentially cause damage to the ongoing repairs.
Elsewhere in the Peak District, works are also due to take place at Brough Lane and Chapelgate in the near future.
The Authority, police and Peak District Vehicle User Group co-operate on Operation Blackbrook, an information and enforcement campaign persuading 4x4 and trail-bike riders to act responsibly and keep to legal tracks - visit www.peakdistrict.gov.uk/vehicles click here for Operation Blackbrook
