The Mersey Partnership has begun a new marketing campaign to promote the Merseyside area as a place to invest. It has just been unveiled at the city's Anglican Cathederal, where the Range Rover Evoque took centre stage. The top of the range 4x4 is assembled at Halewood in Knowsley and had a worldwide celebrity-endorsed launch. Jaguar Land Rover chief executive, Dr Ralf Speth, was a guest of honour at the TMP campaign launch.
'Jaguar Land Rover uses some of the most sophisticated and advanced manufacturing techniques in the motor industry at its award-winning Halewood plant. The launch of the Evoque in Liverpool will be an opportunity to remind a global audience of our strengths,' explained Lorraine Rogers, chief executive of The Mersey Partnership. 'The car, and its award-winning and critically acclaimed Halewood stable-mate the Freelander 2 are the essence of advanced manufacturing in our knowledge economy. Great cars, made in Liverpool city region, on sale all over the world: there can be no more fitting backdrop for the launch of TMP's awareness campaign.'
This launch formed part of a wider TMP campaign, which will involve PR and marketing activity as well as events in Liverpool and London encouraging local businesses to exploit the campaign.
