Lancashire Police will be stopping and checking Land Rovers in the Ribble Valley after a spate of thefts. A red Land Rover Defender was stolen from Cold Weather House Farm, Gisburn Road, Blacko. Thieves stole the pick-up vehicle, registration YK04 RFJ, overnight on July 19.
On the same night, thieves stole the bonnet and both doors of a green Land Rover parked in Trapp Lane, Simonstone. Sergeant Graham Marshall, said, 'We have seen a pattern emerging and we will be stopping Land Rovers in the Ribble Valley and asking drivers for documentation to prove that they are the owners.'
