Nene Overland as a Bell Auto Services (BAS) dealer has unveiled the first 2012 Range Rover Sport 3.0 eight-speed to be breathed on with a performance tune. The modification was created by BAS especially for Nene Overland. The tuning has given the luxury Land Rover a boost of over 100 Newton metres of torque taking the Sport to over 700Nm from the standard vehicle's 600Nm and a power boost of 50bhp to give a total of 306bhp from the 3.0 litre TDV6 engine. New for 2012 is the eight-speed ZF gearbox which helps to propel the tweaked Range Rover to 60mph in seven seconds and on to a top speed of 120mph plus. ‘Tests conducted by Nene Overland in conjunction with BAS on a purpose built test track that suggest that the Range Rover Sport would be able to reach a top speed of at least 150mph,’ said Andy Chaplin from the Cambridgeshire company.
With the speed limiter removed and the ECU tuned, Dan Padmore, head tuning technician at Nene Overland, has been able to fully exploit the vehicle's potential. Because the car uses a new, security protected tri-core processor ECU technology, on the bench ECU tuning is a must.
