Dubai: Land Rover and Al Tayer Motors take the world’s best polo players off-road
As the players warm up for the 2012 UAE Nations Cup, official title sponsors for the fourth consecutive year Land Rover and Al Tayer Motors, treated the world’s No.1 and No.3 polo players, Pablo Macdonough and Juan Martin Nero respectiely to an off-road driving experience in the Dubai desert. Led by a professional driving instructor, Land Rover and Al Tayer Motors gave the polo players a chance to test their off-road driving skills in a fleet of 2012 Range Rovers, ahead of this week’s polo tournament. The 2012 UAE Nations Cup is taking place at the Desert Palm Resort and Spa, the finals of which will be on Friday, 13th January 2012.
USA: Hyundai, Land Rover Grab Detroit Auto Show Accolades
Another North American International Auto Show has ended and two vehicles have been named the finest in their respective classes. The two vehicles are the Hyundai Elantra and Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, which won North American Car and Truck of the Year respectively at the Detroit Auto Show. The Evoque has been a departure from the typical gas-guzzling SUV, as several automakers have been doing their part to keep up with other vehicles in terms of miles per gallon figures. Jaguar Land Rover North America president, Andy Goss stressed this benefit of the Evoque, adding that, 'despite the high fuel economy - 28 mpg highway - for its class, the vehicle can still be considered a luxury SUV of high quality.'
China: Jaguar Land Rover China sells over 42000 vehicles in 2011
Jaguar Land Rover has recently announced its Chinese performance report for 2011, where it was revealed that the manufacturer sold 42,063 vehicles in the country. The sales figure represents 61 percent growth for the manufacturer. JLR's strong Chinese sales performance last year is in no small part due to the manufacturer's increased efforts to improve product localization. Bob Grace, director of the manufacturer's China Operations, said that, 'the manufacturer was committed on making even further strides in 2012.' He added that JLR will expand its Chinese product line in the new year.
