Land Rover Las Vegas supports area Boy Scouts
Land Rover Las Vegas continues its support of the Las Vegas Area Council of Boy Scouts of America as a lead sponsor for the fifth annual Sporting Clays Classic. The event, scheduled for April at Land Rover Las Vegas and the Desert Lakes Shooting Club, just west of Boulder City, benefits the more than 34,000 youths in local Scouting.
The two-day event begins on April 20 with a banquet and auctions at Land Rover Las Vegas and continues the next day with the shooting competition. It brings together four-person teams from companies across the Las Vegas Valley. The event has raised more than $500,000 for local Scouting since its inception in 2008. The competition challenges teams to earn the highest shooting score in three classes, a format that gives beginners and experts an equal chance at winning. Sporting clay targets are thrown in a variety of trajectories, angles, speeds, elevations and distances from 20 stations located on the mountainous course. One lucky competitor will win a one-year lease of a 2012 Range Rover Sport in a drawing after the event. Participants also will get the opportunity to experience Land Rover's legendary capability on a challenging off-road course.

John Clark Launches New Pentland Land Rover Dealer
The John Clark Motor Group has just launched its new Pentland Land Rover dealership in Newbridge, Edinburgh. The state-of-the-art £6 million dealership was designed by Mackie Ramsay Taylor Architects and work began back in June 2011, with the construction contract being awarded to Steward Milne Construction. The 3.5 acre delaership is located alongside the M9 in the Newbridge area of Edinburgh. Alongside the showroom and workshop is an used car display and customer parking. For those requiring aftersales services, the site offers while-you-wait servicing and MoTs where customers can relax and enjoy a coffee or connect to the wifi and work while they wait. Pentland also offers a collect and delivery service as well as a shuttle bus into town.
John Clark has been providing the Edinburgh area with Land Rover and Range Rover vehicles for twelve years and the move to Newbridge coincides with Pentland taking over the Land Rover franchise for the Lothians. Already the new dealership has received interest from Pentland customers, with several bookings for aftersales appointments having been made. It is expected that in its new location, Pentland Land Rover will go from strength to strength through the coming year.
Bradford dealership wins Land Rover top award
Farnell Land Rover in Bradford has taken the top award at the annual Land Rover dealer conference and awards ceremony. The King's Road dealership, part of the Co-operative Motor Group, beat more than 130 approved Land Rover dealerships across the UK to be awarded ‘Dealer of the Year’ by the vehicle manufacturer. The group’s Leeds dealership also won Service Centre of the Year.
Bradford’s Farnell dealership was one of the very first Land Rover dealerships in the world, and invested £1 million in its new showroom prior to its re-opening in January 2011.
Jatinder Aujla, group operations manager, said, 'To win this award just one year after re-launching the dealership perfectly illustrates the excellent customer service we provide. It is also particularly gratifying since I am Bradford born and bred and very proud of my hometown. It was great to be able to promote Bradford on the national stage as a successful place to do business.'
He added, 'The awards cap a great year for Farnell, which reported strong sales around Christmas 2011 when new like-for-like car purchases were up 60% for the period.'
The results were driven by demand for the recently unveiled Range Rover Evoque and Aujla said that 'sales have also been extremely positive in other areas of the Farnell dealerships, with turnover in aftersales and parts up 18%, and turnover in the provision of finance up 13%.'
