The Land Rover South Africa and Sub-Sahara Africa Gala awards ceremony has been held at Crystal Towers in Cape Town. For the first time, representatives of the sub-Sahara Africa JLR network were in attendance, evidence that the significant investment made by JLR under the leadership of Kevin Flynn and Operations Director, Nigel Clarke, is bearing fruit. At the Award ceremony held recently in Canal Walk, Cape Town, no fewer than 40 dealers and importers assembled from the sub-Saharan Africa attended the dealer awards. Representing the Land Rover importers were senior partners from Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Mauritius, Angola, Tanzania and Kenya. The glittering function was compered by local personality Mark Bayley and the guest speaker was Brian Habana who played on the wing for South Africa in the recent Land Rover-sponsored Rugby World Cup.
Nigeria; Coscharis Motors distributors of Jaguar and Land Rover brands in Nigeria won the Land Rover Importer of the Year, 2011 Award in the sub-Saharan Africa region. The Group Managing Director, Coscharis Motors, Mr. Josiah Samuel received the Coscharis Award.
Zimbabwe; Premier Auto Services, which owns the Jaguar Land Rover franchise in Zimbabwe, was awarded the Jaguar Importer of the Year Award at the prestigious Dealer of the Year awards event.
Tanzania; CMC Automobiles of Tanzania was named the Most Improved Dealer of the Year for Sub-Sahara Africa.
South Africa; Apart from the Sub-Saharan Africa dealers, there were also dealers from South Africa who also received top honours. These included Jaguar Bryanston which scooped the Jaguar Dealer of the Year Award, while Land-Rover N4 Witbank was named the Land Rover Dealer of the Year, the pair emerging as the company's leading dealer franchises for 2011. Jaguar Bryanston also emerged as the Jaguar top sales dealer of the year as well as also scooping the award for Jaguar top service customer satisfaction index dealer of the year for its consistency in customer service excellence.
Land Rover's 'Top Sales Dealer' title was awarded to Land-Rover Sandton for its exceptional sales volumes during 2011 as well as the trophy for the Land Rover 'top service customer satisfaction index' dealer of the year. The award is presented to the dealer that consistently delivers excellent customer service. This is measured through the Tactix Programme, which is a daily Customer Satisfaction interview conducted by Conexus, a subsidiary of Synovate.
Daly Land Rover, Potchefstroom was named Land Rover's Most Improved dealer of the Year, demonstrating substantial growth and progress throughout 2011. Land Rover East Rand walked away with the Financial Services dealer of the year prize.
