Jaguar Land Rover displayed 'product leadership and brand strength' by winning two awards at the Australian international design awards, one for Jaguar and another for Land Rover. The Evoque won the 2012 Design Award Best in category 'Automotive & Transport' at the Australian International Design Awards. The announcement was made at a gala event in Sydney and sees the Evoque's awards tally exceed 100 global accolades. The Australian award is testament to the Evoque's ground-breaking and unique design and recognises the fact that the new Range Rover model has created a new segment of the SUV market.
David Blackhall, Jaguar Land Rover Asia Pacific Managing Director, said, 'We are honoured that the Range Rover Evoque has won this prestigious award. This accolade recognises the overwhelmingly positive response that we have received to the Evoque's bold and dramatic design, and this is further vindicated by its success in the marketplace.'
To win the 'Automotive & Transport' category, the Evoque saw off stiff competition from other automotive entrants including the Audi Q3 and Hyundai Veloster. The judges commented that, 'The Evoque is very good value considering exceptional fit, finish and features. A bold form that is turning heads.'
Good Design Australia's website www.gooddesignaustralia.com says of the Evoque, that is, 'A Range Rover with an altogether different spirit. The most exciting vehicle in a generation. Bold and sophisticated in design with clever technology that's innovative, relevant and always intuitive to use. Nothing else looks like it, feels like it or drives like it. In fact, the Range Rover Evoque is a quantum leap in the evolution of Range Rover' click here for Good Design Australia Awards
