Land Rover enjoyed some great PR yesterday when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge chose a black Range Rover SDV8 for the royal baby’s first car journey. Prince William was filmed lifting the future king into the back seat before taking to the driver’s seat to deliver his family safely to Kensington Palace.
Can’t blame him for wanting to drive. What with there being a 4.4-litre twin turbo diesel engine with 516lb ft of torque on tap and a wading depth of 900mm, no doubt he was begging Kate to type ‘abandoned quarry’ into the GPS.
Speculation continues over the baby’s name, but we think Charles Spencer is the obvious choice. After the legendary designer of the original Range Rover of course, Charles Spencer King… nothing to do with his grandparents!
