‘I am delighted, honoured and privileged to be asked to be The Patron of The H4H European Rally 2014,’ says Collins. ‘I never fail to be amazed by the sheer grit and determination of our forces and what they can achieve both on and off the battlefield. I have had the honour of meeting many of our wounded servicemen and women over the last six years and am always humbled by what they achieve.’
The annual H4H European Rally has been going from strength to strength, raising a massive £700,000 for injured servicemen and women since first hitting the road in 2010. Organised by father and son duo Keith Bowen and Tim Price-Bowen, the event follows the route of the Allied advance through Europe during World War 2. This year’s event will also commemorate the 70th anniversary of D-Day and Operation Market Garden.
Up to 45 cars, comprising Land Rovers old and new, will be taking part, and they’ll be crewed by both serving and former members of the British and US militaries, their familes, and civilians.
