17,000km is no small undertaking, but you can expect an epic trip through beautiful scenery, where you’ll experience wonderful hospitality and gain plenty of unforgettable memories.
It’s organised by African Rovers, who describe the journey as ‘a challenging but fantastic tour down the East side of Africa. It’s an adventure full of challenges, great scenery, wild animals, unpredictable events , and wonderful encounters.
‘Everyone is responsible for themselves, but the group is guided by people who have experience in traveling through Africa. One of them is Martin Housman who lived as a child in Zambia and Kenya and also lived with his family in Zimbabwe and ran a safari business in Kenya. He’s now living in England and still travels extensively in Africa’.
The group sets off in November, and will travel through Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia and South Africa. African Rovers can help you with buying your car and can put you in touch with fellow adventurers . You can also meet up with your friends / family at any part of the journey, and it’s up to you how much of the complete journey you complete.
