‘To mark 25 years of Discovery, Land Rover offered more premium luxury in the form of the XXV Special Edition’ says Phil Popham, Jaguar Land Rover Group Marketing Director. ‘Striking attributes from this anniversary derivative are now being made available across the range for our customers to bring that level of heightened luxury into their Discovery of choice.’
Our commiserations therefore go to anyone who’s just shelled-out extra wonga for an XXV…
All Discoverys can now be specified with Ebony/Cirrus dual-tone Windsor Leather seats (in layman-speak that means Land Rover’s softer, squidgier brand of cow), Grand Black Lacquer wood detailing, and a leather-clad steering wheel with optional Straight Grained Walnut trim.
Adaptive Cruise Control is also now available, along with XXV-spec 20-inch forged alloy wheels, and a new selection of body colours; Aruba, Kaikoura Stone and Montalcino Red (a new metallic white called Yulong will become available later).
Land Rover’s InControl apps, which make their debut on Range Rover models this year, are also now available on the Discovery. According to Popham, InControl apps ‘add another meaning to work-life balance by enabling safe and efficient access to essential smartphone content from the vehicle's touchscreen’. That smartphone content includes sat-nav,media streaming, internet radio, and provides access to the connected smartphone's contacts, calendar and music library.
The 2015 Discovery is available to order now, and deliveries will start from September.
