160 teams took part last year, including five Land Rovers. This year sees the first British team in the event’s history gearing up to enter two Race2Recovery Bowler Wildcats. Don’t be too daunted though - less hardcore vehicles also take part, as the rally is more about navigation than speed.
The 2015 event takes place in March. Competitors need off-road driving experience and a basic knowledge of mechanics. Navigation training will be provided. Last year the places were filled by Christmas, so you're advised to book ahead. Pre-booking costs €800 and the full registration fee is €14,800 per team.
