Her Majesty the Queen, accompanied by His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh are due to open Jaguar Land Rover’s new, state-of-the-art engine manufacturing centre near Wolverhampton, on Thursday 30 October.
A chunky £500m has been invested in the new plant. This massive financial commitment will see the return of in-house engine production for the first time in a generation.
The spanking new factory will be home to the Ingenium range of engines, designed, engineered and manufactured right here in the UK. The first member of this new ‘family’ will be a 2.0-litre diesel, destined initially for the Jaguar XE.
