When towing our caravan on motorways the rear offside mudflap on our 110 flips up into the wheelarch, resulting in a groove being worn into the flap. It usually happens when we’re being overtaken, presumably as a result of air turbulence.
Our local dealer says he’s never heard of this happening before but we’re on mudflap number four in only six months. Has anyone else experienced this?

It’s a new one on me: I can only assume it’s the shape of your caravan that’s causing the turbulence. A rudimentary solution would be to drill a small hole at the bottom of the mudflap and run some black cord up to the grab handle on the rear crossmember. This would keep the mud flap in place and stop it being sucked into the wheelarch. Andrew Varrall
