Fuel prices
When I passed my driving test in October 2006, the average price of a litre of diesel in the UK was 92.1p. Imagine how cheesed off I was when it boomed to 108p in 2007. Now, after its all-time high of 147.9ppl in April 2012, it's coming back to earth again - old discussions like this make for interesting reading.
Bits of Land Rovers
If you’re more concerned with fixing up your current vehicle than getting a new one, take a moment to browse the growing number of second-hand Land Rover parts for sale on LRO.com. Well worth a look. Items range from this Defender tipper body to these 1971 Range Rover Rostyle wheels.
White goods
My kitchen is full of Land Rover. Only one bit of a Land Rover, a six foot long side panel, but big enough to make doing anything that one normally does in the kitchen a right PITA. I'd been meaning to paint the panels in the open air, but perpetual frost, rain, darkness and general atmospheric rubbishness meant it wasn’t going to happen. But it's amazing what a fresh coat of Limestone can do. It fades into a dirty off-white over the decades.
Talking of my 109 (which I like to do a lot) take a look at pages 96-97 of our current March 2015 issue to see read the story of its return to the road!
