Remember the Grand Alpine Tour that appeared in our October 2014 issue? The feature with the helicopter, stunning views of the Mont Blanc massif, and a Defender 110 sponsored by Land Rover? Yeah, thought you would. Well this evening the team behind the expedition is presenting its findings at the Royal Geographical Society in London. LRO will be there, scoffing the canapes. Must remember to wipe our feet…
In fact it'll be LRO’s second recent recce to the capital. At the weekend was the Adventure Travel show, which saw a colourful swarm of adventurers and travel companies at the Olympia exhibition centre. In amongst the mountaineers, kayakers, cavers, tortoise painters, volcano geeks and gazelle spotters were Land Rover devotees such as Safari Drive and Drive Albania.
Team LRO’s adventures
Back in the office, Team LRO has been plotting its adventures for 2015. We're intrigued by the Norsk LandRover Klubb's 40th Anniversary event in Norway, which promises to be a fantastic week-long party of thigh-slapping Scandinavian merriment. Involving Land Rovers. (For other Land Rover clubs, take a peek at our clubs directory.)
Our 300Tdi Discovery 1 deserves an overseas recce, after spending the last few years blatting around the UK for features. So I'll be pointing it at the distant horizons of a sunny and faraway land - somewhere that's definitely off the radar. Where? I’m not telling. Yet…
What’s stopping you?
If you fancy an indoor adventure and you’ve an interest in heritage, James Taylor recommends Land Rover’s fantastic new addition to the Solihull factory, called the Celebration Line.
