Aberdeen Mountain Rescue Team’s fleet of four Defenders has been updated by the recent arrival a brand new Defender 110 Station Wagon. The team, featured in the February 2015 issue of LRO, obtained this particular vehicle from Land Rover Aberdeen dealer, Peter Vardy. ‘It’s equipped to the same specifications as the rest of the fleet’, explains Alan Rae, the guy responsible for specifying and sourcing the team’s vehicles. Unlike the other fleet vehicles, this latest machine is Indus Silver, as dark blue was no longer available from the factory.
Like many other professional users who depend on the Land Rover Defender to get the job done, Alan is concerned about what the Defender’s eventual replacement will be like. Will it be as adaptable as the Defender? Will it be as robust and rugged? One thing is certain, we’re all equally keen to find out.
