The 24th official James Bond film, Spectre promises plenty of action, with a unique Jaguar C-X75 speeding through the moonlit streets of Rome and a jaw dropping helicopter fight high above night-time London.
The most exciting sounding set piece of all, however, is the major chase through the Austrian tundra, featuring specially modified Defenders and the most powerful production Land Rover ever – the Range Rover Sport SVR.
Constructed by JLR Special Operations, the Defenders are not only impressive to look at, they are also highly capable with huge 37-inch diameter off-road tyres and enhanced body protection to attack the snow-crammed mountain roads.
Fans over the world will be treated to a host of exclusive behind-the-scenes Spectre content on Jaguar and Land Rover’s social media channels, with brand new websites here giving special access to unseen footage and interviews with design, SVO and stunt teams – alongside a 360 dynamic walk-around of the Jaguar C-X75.
As the Defender enters its final stages of production, this is perhaps the finest send off of all. What offers more motoring kudos than starring in a Bond movie?
The Bond franchise holds a strong relationship with Land Rover, whose appearances range from the Gibraltar dash in 1987's The Living Daylights, featuring a Series III 88” pushed over the edge, to the Range Rover P38s of Tomorrow Never Dies and recent Defender appearance in Skyfall. We're pleased to hear that the makers of Spectre appear to have pulled out all the stops for us Land Rover fans.
Naomie Harris, who will be reprising her role of Miss Moneypenny for Spectre, said ‘I made my Bond debut in the Defender, and I have so many fond memories shooting that sequence in Turkey. Its such a special franchise to be a part of, and I’m thrilled to be here in Frankfurt with the Jaguar Land Rover team.’
