Land Rover’s American unveiling of the new convertible Evoque was beachside in California with a little help from Miss Moneypenny ahead of its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this month.
Naomie Harris reprised her role as Moneypenny in the 24th and latest instalment of the James Bond franchise, Spectre, after previously starring in Skyfall memorably thrashing a Defender 110 around the streets of Istanbul.
Now we certainly aren’t averse to a swimsuit clad Harris, and you can almost certainly be forgiven for failing to notice the convertible Evoque in these shots. The dream combo are pictured having a fun day out on the sun-drenched Santa Monica beach, a nod to the ‘fun’ that its design is aimed for. And at £47,500, lets hope it delivers quite a lot of fun…
This model pictured is the HSE 2.0-litre Si4 petrol version that gives you 237bhp with nine-speed auto box and optional Active Driveline plus a new GPS and infotainment system. The automatic roof will fold while driving at speeds up to 30mph and a ‘Roll-Over Protection Device’ that deploys in 90 milliseconds will protect your passengers if you end up the wrong way up.
Oh, and Harris went off on holiday to the Maldives immediately after the shoot. Not a bad life is it.
