Land Rover and Abercrombie & Kent have teamed up to launch ‘the most luxurious road trip on Earth’, a once-in-a-lifetime trip over 21 days, crossing continents and experiencing unparalleled indulgence behind the wheel of the most luxurious car in the company’s history – the Range Rover SVAutobiography.
Costing £100,000 for two people, the trip takes you across five continents in all, eight countries and accommodates you in nine of the worlds best hotels (handpicked by Abercrombie and Kent) where it will provide guests with ‘truly off-the-beaten-track experiences’ and locations ‘only accessible thanks to the peerless capability of the Range Rover.’ Hmmm.
The itinerary includes a helicopter picnic, yes, a helicopter picnic (we’re intrigued to see how that works), a personalised fragrance making class and a private dinner under the stars at a Sandstone Butte.
Have Lunch in Monaco at Joël Robuchon at the Metropole. Take a cruise across Lake Como in Italy. Jump in a helicopter ride from Las Vegas to Amangiri. The list goes on.
Mark Cameron, Land Rover Experiential Marketing Director, at Jaguar Land Rover explained: ‘We set out to design a trip worthy of the ultimate luxury SUV and thanks to our partners at Abercrombie & Kent we have achieved just that.
‘From Europe to Australia, this trip is all about the epitome of luxury but done so in a Land Rover way - the unexpected, the off-the-beaten-track and the once-in-a-lifetime experiences. This itinerary represents the definitive drive adventure, achieved in the definitive vehicle.’
Could this announcement have been timed slightly better? Maybe so. This is after all the week in which the final iconic, utilitarian Land Rover Defender rolls off the production line after decades of service to the working man.
But let’s be honest, it sounds like an amazing trip and we’d love to go if we had £100k to play with.
