Steve says: "This is my highly modified 1977 101 Forward Control Ambulance. From a beaten up ex army ambulance in desert camouflage I have transformed her into an unstoppable overland camper. The specification is as follows: Rover 4.8 (4.6 reworked) V8 High torque engine, running twin Stromberg CD175 carbs, coupled to rebuilt LT95 4 Speed gearbox and RR classic overdrive and double cardon front prop to aid prop rumble.The wheel are bespoke 6 stud 17"x9"wide on cooper discoverer stt 37x12.5 tyres. 80 Litre LPG gas conversion with Blos gas mixer carbs to ensure the LPG doesn`t restrict the 4.8`s low end pulling power. Driver aids include a bespoke Heystee ram/RR classic pump power steering system and all round air bag assist over leaf spring suspension. Twin 13000lb winches front and back. Rear winch raises and lowers rear spare wheel.120 litre on board potable water tank coupled to truma gas hot water generator serving internal hot and cold sink, external hot and cold shower. Propex gas fired night heater, Fridge freezer, oven, grille and hob, twin 110 ahr leisure batteries coupled to 100 watt solar panel and 2000 watt inverter. Plus all the other usual camper comforts."
